Child protection at WABE

Every child should feel safe and secure in our facilities, grow up healthy and receive optimal support.

Child protection concept as a binding framework

There are binding rules, attitudes and measures. A behavioral traffic light and flyers are available in every facility. As a provider, it is important to us to regularly train employees and parents in the area of child protection.

Content of the child protection concept

  • Security check: regular risk and resource analysis
  • Consistent understanding: child protection terms and definitions
  • Prevention: strengthening, protecting and supporting children
  • Parental work: regular exchange on child protection as a basis
  • Sex education: clear rules for appropriate body discovery
  • Feedback and complaint management: serves transparency and quality assurance
  • Legal requirements: compliance with the protection mandate according to §§ 8a and 72a SGB VIII

Parental involvement in our daycare centers. What can you do?

  • Take unusual comments from your children seriously and clarify them, address concerns and remain in dialog with the professionals.
  • Listen to your gut feeling.
  • Safeguarding the rights of children.
  • No cell phone use in the facilities.
  • Do not grant access to third parties through the secured entrances.
  • Do not enter the children’s sanitary facilities or baby changing rooms when they are in use.
  • Mindful communication about the children when they are present.
  • Maintain non-violent and respectful communication between adults and with the children.

Clear guidelines for action

In order to be able to act safely in the event of suspected cases or concerns about child safety, there are binding guidelines for action. They ensure that all reporting channels are followed.

The guidelines can be viewed in the daycare center and answer both questions:

  • What to do if there are signs that a child’s welfare is at risk?
  • What to do in the event of abusive behavior
    • between children?
    • between adults and children?
    • between adults?
