WABE – That’s what we stand for
The German abbreviation “WABE” stands for “Wohnen, Arbeiten, Betreuen und Entwickeln” (“living, working, caring and developing”). We accompany and support people in their development – from an early age. In this way, our actions influence and shape individual paths in life and set the course for the future of society.
Based in Hamburg, the association is an accredited provider of child and youth welfare services, a member of the Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband (Federation of German Welfare Associations) in Hamburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Baden-Wuerttemberg, and a member of the Forum Sozial e.V. (social services organisation) in Schleswig-Holstein. It was founded in 2001.
The association is non-partisan and non-denominational and recognised as a non-profit charitable organization.
Scope of services
The WABE Group (including WABE e.V. and WABE Nord) provides care to about 4,500 children in daycare centers and schools.
We operate 30 daycare centers in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Baden-Wuerttemberg.
Our WABE International School in Pinneberg-Thesdorf opened in early September 2016.
At four other school locations, we are a co-operation partner involved in the all-day school programme, providing on-site care.
In addition, our parent-child centers in Hamburg-Bergedorf and Hamburg-Jenfeld are very popular.
