Jetzt anmeldenAt the beginning of 2022, WABE started a cooperation with the primary school Am Aalfang in Ahrensburg. As the partner, we take on the care offers within the framework of the open all-day school (OGS) for up to 220 children.
With the open all-day school, we expand the educational and learning opportunities for schoolchildren, as the concept enables a meaningful combination of school education in the morning with supplementary, in-depth and development-promoting offers in the afternoon. Access to play, leisure and cultural activities in the student’s living environment creates a wide range of additional fields of learning and contacts that strengthen the development of self-reliant and self-confident personalities.
With the offer of the open all-day school, we support parents and legal guardians in being able to meet the growing professional and social demands. Balancing family and work poses a major challenge for many working parents. We offer them reliable and high-quality care for children of primary school age through the OGS in the afternoon.
The daily structure of the OGS is divided into:
Early care
The OGS – Am Aalfang offers early care from 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. Early care is the responsibility of WABE e.V. Early care takes place in the daycare center. After early care, the students are accompanied to school by the specialists.

How can I register my child for OGS?
You can register your child via our homepage.
Does your child already attend elementary school? Please also register your child via our homepage. Your child will then receive the contract documents from the responsible teachers.
How will my enrollment be confirmed?
You will receive the signed contract documents by post.
How do I receive a subsidy towards the childcare costs or lunch?
If you receive unemployment benefit I or II, social benefit, social assistance or basic income support, please submit a copy of all relevant documents with your application. Families entitled to support under the Education and Participation Act (Bildungs- und Teilhabegesetz) should submit a current notification from the Jobcenter.
Is there a sibling discount/sibling reduction?
If a sibling is already attending the OGS for a fee (at least 10 hours per week), please mark this on the service agreement. In this case, you will receive a reduction in the childcare fee for the younger child directly from WABE Nord. If there are siblings in daycare centers in Ahrensburg, you can apply for a subsidy for the childcare costs from the city of Ahrensburg.
What is the difference between an AG and an open offer?
At the beginning of the first and second semester, children can choose from a range of activities. The first two weeks can be used to get a taste of the AGs, after which they are binding and participation is compulsory (for the school semester). AGs can also be attended beyond the booked childcare time.
Our open activities, on the other hand, can be freely chosen each day and are based on the needs of the children. These can be attended during the booked childcare times.
When can I pick up my child from OGS?
The childcare times are contractually agreed with you. Please understand that flexible pick-up is not possible during childcare hours. After lessons, the children go to lunch, do their homework and take part in open activities or AGs from 14:00. In order to ensure that everything runs smoothly, we therefore ask you to pick up the children on the hour (14:00, 15:00, 16:00). Of course, exceptions such as doctor’s appointments are possible.
In these cases, please inform the OGS by 11:00 am.
