WABE eV supports Hamburg’s qualification campaign for social education. At various WABE day-care centers and at our school cooperation locations, we offer apprenticeships for part-time training to become an educator. The three-year, paid form of training enables the trainees to gain direct practical experience in the facility in addition to their school training.

The trainees complete the theoretical part of the training to become an educator during fixed school hours at one of the technical schools for social education in the Hamburg metropolitan region. Training begins in February or August of each year. We recommend applying to the daycare center of your choice as early as possible and observing the registration period of the technical schools.

You will complete the practical part of the training as an educator in one of our WABE facilities. On site, they are supported and guided by the educational staff. The practical time is 15-30 hours per week, the distribution of which can be individually coordinated with the day-care center management.

Successful completion of the final examination as a “state-approved educator” qualifies you to work as an educator in our day-care centres.
